Great list. And I agree with you that a spin off book based on the marauders era would be great.

I’ll be reading Six of Crows next month and HP is on my top 5 as well! I thought I was cheating because it’s alreadu a big series with lots of added books, but I’ve found it on everyone’s list lol. Never enough Harry Potter!

    • J.W. Martin says:

All the added books haven’t really been like a traditional novel. Scripts to plays, or short little reference books, or movies based on a book that the characters use. But no full-on novels (unless I’ve missed something :|)

  3. Kristin says:

Severus and Lily really need a spin off. I can’t believe that hasn’t happened yet!!

A Halliday spin off would be so epic!

  4. Kiersten says:

I would LOVE to read a spin-off of the Harry Potter series. I guess that’s technically what Fantastic Beasts is, but truthfully, it hasn’t blown me away. I’d love to read a spin-off surrounding young Dumbledore’s life.

  5. Hey, I put up something on Ready Player One, too! But I wanted to focus on what happened AFTER Wade won the Oasis. I never even thought of a prequel-type story!

    • J.W. Martin says:

I’m still hoping the book of what happens after will happen one day. Honestly, anything set in that universe would be great. Like, imagine a completely new set of characters having adventures in the Oasis and they keep having run-ins with Wade (now a superuser.) He just swoops in, saves the day, and off he goes again, becoming mysterious the same way Halliday did.

      • I’m half worried that he will never write another thing about the RPO world again, and I’m also worried that he will get WAY too involved in it and it’ll become that thing of, “Please, not another RPO-related novel,” because the quality keeps degrading… Either one could happen. I mean, I know there are people who both love the Harry Potter continuations and then there are those who want her to stop already, so it could go either way.

  6. Yes!! I want to know all about Lilly, James, and Snape – gimme all the details J.K.! Ready Player One almost made my list as well. I could use some more of that world for sure!
Thanks again for participating – added you to the list!

  7. Birdie says:

It’s not quite a spinoff, but I’d love some behind the scenes glimpses of Sevro throughout the events of Red Rising! His early story, about his mom, his interactions with his father, what he was thinking when they were at the academy.

  8. I would LOVE for a marauders spin-off series!!!!!!!

  9. Steph says:

I would probably sell my soul for a Marauders spin off. It’s been on my dream wish list for a LONG time. Also, I love the Jesper prequel idea. I feel like he doesn’t always get enough recognition alongside Kaz, but I love his backstory and it’d probably be hilarious, like you said.

  10. YES TO ALL OF THESE. I think it would be great if any of the Harry Potter characters had a spin-off series. 🙂 And Number 5 too – that would be so interesting to read about. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! <3

  11. Awesome choices!! I’d say yes to *any* spin off for Red Rising or Six of Crows to be honest- I just want MORE!
